This polar panorama effect is fantastic. It’s such a great idea to make your own little world. I’ll have to try it out at some point!

I found these icons around last.fm and I still haven’t fathomed what they are exactly; They’re not a font, nor are they special keys or html special characters. The only way I can reproduce them is by copying them from one place to another.

I’ll put them on here for safe keeping.

Julien Breton aka Kaalam

I love the neon quality of light sculpture. I also love the process, the idea of not knowing how something is going to turn out until you see it through the lens of a camera. Julien Breton’s work is an amazing example of the possibilities the format has to offer!

I went to see Watchmen at the weekend. Having heard mixed, but mostly negative reviews, I was only just hanging on to my optimism that the film would be good. In hindsight, I should have read the Graphic Novel first. I left the cinema with a head full of unanswered questions and spent the first half of the film in complete confusion. Despite all this I still thought it was a good watch. I’m now patiently waiting for the novel to arrive!

In conclusion; READ IT FIRST! Don’t expect an action packed blood bath (it’s not about that). And be prepared for big blue willies!

A new entry for my ever increasing shopping list. Caramelaw’s illustrations are crazy in a great and inspiring sort of a way. Seeing stuff like this makes me want to dig out the old Moleskine.

I can think of a few walls I would brighten up with these prints. Sanna Annukka’s style is lovely!

Excellent geeky fun…This image should be instantly recognizable to anybody who’s played on the Legend of Zelda series. Good to see those 52 hours weren’t wasted! Finally the Cucco gets its own back!

the curious case of the missing skirt

Posted in Shoreditch by michelle-b on the March 11th, 2009

Mutton dressed as lamb

I’m no dedicated follower of fashion, thank god, because when I see what some of the people are wearing in Shoreditch I feel I’ve had a lucky escape. Today was a case of less is definitely NOT more when we ended up trailing a woman who had deliberately/accidentally forgotten her skirt. We’re talking worn, see through, used to be opaque tights with nothing over the top and disturbingly nothing underneath. If this had occurred anywhere else I probably would have concluded that it was accidental (shame on the boyfriend who was walking next to her without saying a thing). However, being the painfully ‘trendy’ place this is it’s highly doubtful.

I’m quite familiar with Calina Estrada’s work (well I’ve seen it before) thanks to a feature in Computer Arts. What I didn’t know though, is that she also prints t-shirts and very nice one’s at that.

Aero’s new tv ad by JWT London looks like great fun, it reminds me of The Balloon Run from Fun House with Pat Sharp. Or some kind of crazy ball pool!

I can’t say what it is that I like about vinyl figures, I know a lot of people don’t get it. I think for me it harks back to the childhood enjoyment of action figures. And lets face it, they brighten up the desk!

Here’s two more for the wanted list!
