Field Trips
Field trips? What an excuse for a day off! Which is definitely not what I did yesterday
I even have proof!
Let me explain; yesterday I went on a “field trip” to the Panorama in Llangollen, for those of you who don’t know of it (everyone outside of Wrexham) it’s a long drive up a very winding narrow path, but it’s worth it when you reach the top and see the breath taking views of the Welsh countryside. Back to the point… At the moment I am doing a project for a new blog interface that works using RSS feeds, I have most of the technical aspects figured out in that it will take the form of a stack which contains a hierarchy of information. Aesthetically the project is nowhere near ready, so to move it onwards I have gone back to the visual research stage to add a bit of life into it, which brings me back to the panorama. As you can see in my flickr set at the top of panorama is a series of rock structures which are made up of fantastic layered rocks and shelves creating all kinds of patterns and formations. I have always had an interest in natural forms and the use of these forms and materials in design so it seemed like a natural progression for me to begin looking in this area.
On a completely unrelated note…
We went to see 300 last night and it was fantastic! It looked great the story was great, the dialogue was a bit cheesy in parts but it was still great. I recommend that you go and see it, definitely not one for the girly girls though.
