Interactive Portfolio Section Take 2
I have completed the next stage of my 3D portfolio section, in this example the actionscript is loading in the icons from a separate XML file, making it easy to update without having to adjust the script. It is also creating the animation dynamically.
At this stage of expermentation I have decided that this probably isn’t the best format for my portfolio, I have a lot of icons which wouldn’t fit onto the loop without the use of separate category loops, not something I had planned for. So with this in mind I am going to look at creating a 2D portfolio with the capability of storing more icons and information and which isn’t as limited by shape.
So it’s back to the drawing board, but at least I know how 3D portfolio’s are created if I ever have the need for one again.
General Waffle and More Flickr!
I actually walked in to uni today, shocking! Anyhow I’m thinking this is a good thing because it means I can take more pictures, like this one, which I took on the way home this evening of this rather lovely (if you’re into that sort of thing) crane which can be found on the new building site as is often referred to as Wrexham
I’ve had some pretty positive feedback about my ideas for the competition brief I’m having a crack at, obviously I’m keeping them hush hush for now ![]()

Portfolio Part 1
Well I have a stinking cold but I’m ploughing ahead regardless
I’ve managed to get the first part of my dynamic portfolio done, it’s pretty standard at the moment because I’m just getting to grips with making the code work. Thought I would post up my progress, so here goes:
I will keep posting up the stages so you can see where I’m up to. At some point I will be adding to the existing static version of my portfolio as I will be running two versions. Got to keep in line with web standards too.
The Proof is in the Pudding!
OK, so a bit of a corny title but in this case it’s absolutely perfect [see the images below].
Make of it what you will. I see a tree on the top of a hill with a small valley spanning infront of it complete with dry stone walls. Where this image originated from wasn’t anywhere near the countryside. It’s actually chocolate pudding, I noticed the tree shape and thought it would make a good picture so I got out my digital camera and took a snap of it. I then imported it into Photoshop and adjusted the colour and contrast giving me the above result. I must say I was pretty shocked and amazed.
Here’s the original image:
Well this has definitely proven to me that art and inspiration can be drawn from any source, you just have to keep your eyes open!
